Pre-travel angst (really? still?) has me up at 5 a.m. for a 10:15 flight. Over coffee I peruse Artforum (well, the pictures — seriously, who reads the articles?) and it occurs to me that it reads like a big advertisement for New York, and if I lived there I could actually go to these shows… In the first few pages alone there are ads for Joseph Beuys, Marlene Dumas, Andreas Gursky, R. Crumb, Eva Hesse… All in New York.
