Rebuses

I cataloged three images of works that involved rebuses today.  From different centuries and for different requestors.  First, a nice Currier and Ives lithograph, The Art of Making Money Plenty:

I feel like I should mention that rebuses and I go a long way back.  Pretty much my favorite book in kindergarten was Bunny Rabbit Rebus.  Because, you know — bunnies.  I had no idea at that time that it had any significance whatsoever to AIGA (whose website is really fun to browse around, by the way).
