lots but not much

A lot has been going on, but I’m having trouble writing about anything that seems like it might be interesting.  Yesterday Jenny and I had a little party — our first since we’ve lived together.  Actually, the only thing little about the party was our apartment — there were about 20 people here in our little 2-bedroom apartment.  And for some reason they hung out in the smallest space possible (the kitchen).  We (bravely) made it through a bottle and a half of Vana Tallinn, which I brought back from Estonia a couple years ago, and I think people had fun for the most part…

Friday night I saw Patty Griffin in Boulder — she was fantastic as always.  I love her lyrics, and wish that all talented musicians could be equally talented writers.  She sets the bar high, I think.

And speaking of setting the bar high, my sister is starting to hear back from graduate schools, and she has had some very good news!  I’m really proud of her, and also more than a little sad that she’ll be moving this summer.  I’m not sure what my living situation will be after that — keep the apartment by myself? move? find a roommate?  I’ve moved 16 times in less than 8 years, and I really wouldn’t mind just sticking in one place for a little while.  I would like to save some money, though, so I’m thinking the roommate option might be best…  So if you know of someone (preferably sane) who’ll need a place in August, let me know…

I’m off to Kansas City tomorrow.  I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to write, but I’ll try to post at least once.

Surely, you have realized that ALL parties end up in the kitchen at some point. That’s where the booze is kept!

Btw, I’ve been enjoying the CDs you brought over a couple of weeks ago. Was I supposed to make a copy of the Brunettes EP for you that I bought at the same show?

  2. Maybe that was it — I bought one Brunettes EP and you bought the other? Or do I already have a copy of the one you bought? Mine has: Moon in June; Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks; and maybe a song about a runway? If that sounds familiar, I already have it.
